My name is Mr. Mang Tungg Thang. I am married with two sons. I am a Baptist minister and a singer as well.
I am interested in music and literature.

BACKGROUND:

He is of Teklwi village, Tedim Tsp. His parents are Pu Khup Lyan (Asst. State Education Officer, Rtd.) and Pi Dim Yam. He was born on Saturday, the 27th of May ’72 in Matupi. He has 3 sisters and 4 brothers. His family converted to Baptist Church in 1976.

EDUCATION:

He went school at the age of 5, and up to his matriculation, in every exam he won the positions 1/2/3. He had been schooling at SPS Teklwi, SMS Lungngo, Matupi Township, SMS Kaptel, and BEHS (1) Tedim. He passed the Grade 9, final exam set by the State Exam board, with Distinction in English and Mathematics and qualified to take Science subjects in the Grade 10. In Grade 8, 9 and 10 he was selected as the Luyechun candidate. He passed the matriculation in 1988. He joined Mandalay University in 1991 and graduated with B.Sc. (qualify to join Master) degree in 1995. During his university student life, he had involved in the “Zomi Syamsin Kipawlna” and served as Secretary for one academic year.  He and his fellow students found a Newsletter of “Zingsol” (Tedim Dialect) in 1994 and he was the first Editor.

His Great Consecration Prayer: He was born again in 1988 and he wholeheartedly wanted to live for God and his prayer said, “Lord, I know that I am not able to control my life. Control me not to fall into the world, and if it is needed give me disease to control my whole life, take my abilities, and use me as your will.” The following year, he suffered from a feeble disease and it could not be cured whatever drug is used. Besides, after his matriculation, his fervent prayer is to become an instrument of God to serve his people (Zomi) with his best.

ACTIVITIES

There was a trial in his life and it took about fifteen years from the year 1990 till 2005. He was very upset with his life and could not do whatever he wishes. In his university life, he involved in the University Christian Fellowship (UCF) and they had Gospel journeys to the nearby churches. One of his unforgettable activities was involving as a vocalist in the Burmese Gospel Series (&dwfodrf;csdef) back in 1994, copyright by the Mandalay UCF.

GOD DID NOT LEAVE HIM:

After receiving B.Sc.(Q) degree, he joined the ZBCM, as a member of Revival Gospel Team and it lasted for six months, touring to Kalay Churches, Tedim Tsp, and Tonzang Tsp. His role is singing, preaching and praying in that team. He decided to join Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT) and he was directly admitted in the first year of M.Div. class in 1997.  Amidst many hardships such as health problems, financial difficulties, he received M.Div. degree in 2000. During his seminary life, he served as the Chairman of Music Committee of the Student Council for one year.  After his graduation by the grace of God and the recommendation of his Professor Rev. Dr. Mg Mg Yin, he was directly appointed as a fulltime staff in the BARS Program of MIT.
